okokok. Returning Sidona fans here. Question. Where is Mr Slick? My boyfriend and I were looking back a couple of older posts, and noticed specifically in the modern technology comic with all of Droog’s texts, he (boyfriend) pointed out that most of Droog’s texts to SS were sent over a year ago and went seemingly unanswered? And in the SidDroog comic where they’re kidnapped you specifically use the phrase “Slicks old clothes, which could mean nothing”
my boyfriend is foaming at the mouth trying to decipher what hidden lore you have going on here,,,,

How do you come up with the ideas / formatting n stuff for your doodle pages??
I’ve wanted to be able to draw things of that like. Genre foreeever but they always die in the depths of my wips unloved and unfinished LOL
before anything, i write a lot of notes! i keep a notepad on my laptop and phone and copy/paste ideas after ive workshopped them some. talking with friends has been very helpful in generating ideas!
i also keep some basic layers on hand in medibang. folder one 'ref' is all text and reference images, folder 2 'draw' is all the things i am making. i tend to draw new lines on new layers and compulsively merge them. my usual canvas size is around 2-3k each side so i can dedicate space to a lot of different things
i'll sketch out each idea with a coloured pencil brush, checking it off the list as i go, and adding/editing as needed. once i'm happy with that, i do a bunch of black line layers and draw them with a pen at 15 smoothing, 10 for text. i use the shape tools a lot for speech bubbles and panels/background lines. then a similar process for colour and hue adjustment at the end if it looks weird
i keep a Ton of reference images on hand in strictly organized (compulsively hoarded) folders, mostly favourite artists (tricotiana, jc leyendecker, baban, friends' art) and look for new refs constantly. sometimes you'll be looking for one image and find something else that strikes your fancy! i have to check trico's art often bc sometimes i'll think i had a cool new idea and nope, trico did it fifteen years ago (not that you cant retread old ground, but i don't want to be too derivative)
