Join us at 1pm Saturday, June 19th in Front of the Top Pot Donuts at 1st and Stewart. Boss Adam probably thinks he's seen the last of us. Surprise, we're back!
Two years ago, Purple Store owner, Adam Sheridan, fired all of his employees when they tried to organize after he refused to pay them some money they were owed. After a year of picketing followed by a year of pandemic, Adam may think he can now resume business as usual, as if nothing happened. But firing the whole staff for organizing is something the Seattle Solidarity Network will never forgive or forget.
After a year of quarantine, we’re gathering together to show Adam that this fight isn’t over and that we aren’t going away. We’ll be holding a picket outside the store in Pike Place market on Saturday, June 19th, at 1 PM.
The safety of our members and the general public are, as always, our highest priority, so please wear a mask even if you’re fully vaccinated. If you aren’t yet vaccinated or don’t feel safe being out in the general public right now, we won’t hold it against you if you can’t make it to this one. There will unfortunately be many more fights in the future, and we’d prefer you as healthy as possible to help out!
We want as big of a crowd as we can get, so we’re mobilizing the entire SeaSol member list. Feel free to bring comrades along who are interested in standing up for workers rights and might want to get involved in SeaSol’s cause. We’re gonna have special anti-Purple-store balloons!
Where/When: Gather at 1pm Saturday, June 19th in Front of the Top Pot Donuts at 1st and Stewart. From there we'll head then down to the front of the store at 92 Stewart St and picket until 3pm.
What to bring: Your badass self, a mask, and probably nothing purple.
