Task #7 (Now-March 31) -  March Para Partners

Details:

In order to foster more inter-character involvement, we’re trying out something new. For this task, you are to have a para-roleplay with your assigned partner, found below.

Guidelines:

You are to conduct a para roleplay with the person your character is paired with above.

You must do this for every one of your characters, if you have multiple.

The para can be about anything--in the hospital, outside of it, etc. If you would like a further prompt for it, we’d be happy to provide one, just send an ask to the main.

Each person must have a minimum of five turns on the para.

Remember, para means paragraphs.

The pairs were generated through a group generator and then tweaked by the admins to account for characters that are played by the same people and characters that already interact a lot. They are non-negotiable.

For this task, we want to leave it up to you guys and our readers. Starting on Sunday, January 15th, anonymously send each other numbers to have them answer a question about themselves.

She Persisted || Karen & Allie (Task 7)

“I don’t know, Mom, we’re kind of at the beck and call of the courts and everything with all of this,” Allie sighs into the phone, on speaker on her desk phone, swallowing against the empty feeling in her throat. “The courts and the DA and that monster.” Nicole is silent for a moment. “We’ll be there, sweetie. As long as you need us. We can be there to help with all of the kids, I’m sure Carolyn will want to be with you guys in court, and Jamie can’t be there all the time.” She nods slowly, before remembering that her mom can’t see her. “Yea, that’d be great, it’d be a big help. You and dad will be a good distraction for the kids, too,” Allie says, glancing at the clock. “I should get going, though. Gotta get started soon.” 

“Alright, sweetie. Send our love to the kids and Evan, and Meredith and Derek. I’ll let you know our flight info, and we’ll talk soon. And remember, Al, it’ll work out. She’ll get what she deserves. I love you.” Fighting back tears, Allie nods. “I love you too, mom. Bye.” She pushes the button to end the call, and leans back in her chair, pressing her hands to her head, letting out a sigh. “Make sure she gets what she deserves, Bee,” She whispers to the photo in the frame on her desk, next to others of all the kids; hers, Meredith’s, her brothers’, Bentley. Shaking her head, she turns to her computer, opening up her schedule for the day, checking to see who she has for help.

23. What is your stance on religion?

Oh, this one’s a little tricky for me. I was raised in a very strict Catholic family. I grew up a strong believer, and was for a lot of my life - that is, until I met and fell in love with the woman who is now my wife. Same-sex marriage is highly opposed in the Catholic Church. And due to this, my mother and a lot of my family have basically disowned me. I haven’t spoken to them since I married Arizona. This has obviously put a bit of a damper on my faith. However, I do still believe in God. And as much as I would like to bring my daughters up with the same faith that I have, I’m going to allow them to make their own choices and believe what they will. I don’t find religion to be a problem, until you push it on others or don’t accept others.

13. Describe a former lover.

I feel kind of guilty about this one, considering I’m currently married… But, hm. In college I dated a guy named Eric for just about two years. He was my first “real” boyfriend. Eric was a philosophy major. He was a year older than me. He had sandy brown/blond hair and hazel eyes, and a really wonderful wide smile. He was serious, but funny in his own way. I remember, I really liked the dimple in his cheek when he smiled..that was really cute.

But ANYWAY, I’m married now. I have a wife. So.

10. Talk about something that turns you on.

Uh, can I just say my wife? [chuckles] No, but for real, a good sense of humor always turns me on. I love being around people who can make me laugh. Which Arizona does on a daily basis, sooo ;P

Describe your parents.

My mother is strong and beautiful and brave, she’s smart and honest and works harder than anyone I have ever met. She relocated her entire life for me, gave up anything she wanted so I could be happy and has always been my loudest cheerleader.

When we moved to San Diego we lived with my grandfather for a few months until we could afford a place of our own, she worked three jobs to make ends meet and to save up and ensure I’d be able to go to college. Watching her dedication and hard working ethic pushed me to work for a scholarship, for money and to be the best person I could be. We weren’t happy though, we were both shells of our former selves and spent all our time working for a goal and forgetting to know each other. I moved across the country when I graduated and that rift widened ... my mother tried her best to make sure I’m happy, to make my dreams come true even when we had nothing and I never appreciated her enough until I became a parent myself. The day I realised was the day I made a promise to myself to ensure she knows how wonderful she was and that I love her. My mother made me the person I am today and she’s the person I have always wanted to make proud. 

My father doesn’t deserve my time or thoughts. The man who raised me is my grandfather and it breaks my heart that he never got to meet his grandson. He was the first person to help me realise that just because my father had replaced me didn’t mean I could never be happy again, and he would have loved Bentley with the ferocity and passion of the sun.
