Was it great having Ozzie Alonso back on the field?
No shit, announcer guy. Of course it was! Especially with Dempsey and Martins gone.

#sidelineview #GoSounders #SEAvDC (at Sounders FC @ Centurylink Field)
GOOOOOAAAAAL
Fuck yeah! 1-0 Sounders and minutes left
If we can’t score right now that DC is one man down I’m not sure how well we’ll do in the last 15 minutes.
Still somewhat naively hopeful, though. Go Sounders!
Fuck! I was up and celebrating before I realized it didn’t actually go in.
Come on, Sounders!
The Twitter feed of the #SEAvDC game is fucking full of selfies right now.
I guess there is some contest going on but still, man; it is fucking annoying.
Sounders v DC United
There is a lot to talk about in the lead up to the July 3rd Sounders v DC match. Undoubtedly the soccer being played on Wednesday will most likely be the least talked about. The two big headlines/issues are the new metal detector policy at the C-Link and Ricardo Salazar being the official (apparently there was a mix-up at PRO and he is not the official). In any case was the metal detector policy pushed up once the Sounders got wind that Salazar was going to be the official? I would say the two events are most likely connected and to be honest good for the front office for taking extra precautions. I for one am not worried about being wanded but it appears that many other people carry metal objects into the stadium and feel they will be inconvenienced by the new policy.
Fan and player safety should be the team and C-Link’s priority and they feel enough people are sneaking inappropriate items into the stadium to justify putting every fan through a metal detector. I urge any fan who is upset about the new policy to take a look at it from the stadiums point of view. The stadium would not instigate a policy requiring a massive increase in per game cost (reducing profits) if they did not feel it was absolutely necessary. As a matter of fact you should take a look in the mirror because you are probably one of the reasons all of the rest of us will now go through a metal detector to enter the game.
I wrote this before I found out that Salazar was not going to be the referee but I still think it is funny so I will leave it in. I was taught when you are critiquing someone you should say two positive things for every negative thing you say so here it goes.
Salazar you get far more calls wrong than you get right and not just against the Sounders. You have cool pointy eyebrows and your wrist bands are awesome.
Salazar you are extremely aggressive in your actions increasing tension in heated situation rather than diffusing them causing you to make rash decisions. You have big muscles and you know where you keep your cards especially the red one.
Salazar you don’t know the meaning of unbiased is which is never more evident than during Sounders games. You can run pretty fast and when you pull out a card I can feel a little gust of wind in the 15th row (that is pretty fantastic).
It is plain to see that the positives far out way the negatives.
DC is struggling to put it kindly having a league worst 9 points and only scoring 8 goals in 17 matches. With that being said there are no easy games in the MLS. To make things worse for DC they will be without Deleon and Dwayne De Rosario. This game should be a great opportunity for the Sounders to figure out the Eddie and Oba strike partnership. This probably should not be the case but the Sounders have a busy July and this game is the easiest of the bunch so anyone that is questionable regarding fitness will most likely be held out of the starting lineup. From yesterday and today’s quotes it looks like Alonso is out, Yedlin will not start but Neagle should be able to go. I think Yedlin not starting will have more to do with just giving him a break rather than his shoulder. Here is my starting lineup if I were Sigi:
Eddie - Oba Neagle - Rosale Rose Carrasco Burch - Traore - Hurtado - Evans
The weather is going to be amazing and we will be watching the beautiful game in the atmosphere in the US. Can’t wait!
