Wildfowl passing the shelter yesterday: Dark-bellied Brent Geese (above) and Wigeon. Today saw a nice mixed flock of Pintail and Shoveler, plus a Curlew (below).

For #WorldWhaleDay…memories of this leucistic (mostly white, but not albino) Southern Right Whale calf, migrating along Cape Infanta & De Hoop on the Western Cape's southernmost coastline; October 2018. Came so close I could see it’s ghostly silhouette in the water, & capture this from a ridge on shore. Today I had one of the greatest wildlife moments of my life: a surprise visit from two orcas off the coast of South Stack. There are less than 5 records of them at the site and none for 7 years, so safe to say it was literally a hair-raising experience.
