I can just imagine Sebastian calling his mom after a con and gushing about all the people he met and the stories they told and the gifts they gave him and him being like "I'm just a kid from Romania. I don't deserve all of this mom. I'm so lucky." And that's the end of my headcanon. Goodbye.

Ugh. One of those weird nights where I want some one. I'm so not use to this. I don't like it.

Seeing those baby Seb gifs made me really sad. I need more baby Seb gifs.

I need baby Seb working really hard and really loving karting, only for the older kids to laugh at him when he makes a mistake because "he never makes a mistake". And I need him to get really upset and for him to decide to never get in a kart again and he sits down with mum and dad and they tell him they can't force him, but he can't let the bullies drag him down. They are just jealous. So he goes back. And he stops giving a shit about them and he stops trying to talk to them after races because they're mean, and they call him stuck up but he doesn't care because he loves driving and that's all that matters.

And he goes to school because he still has friends at school and he shows them his trophy, something he's really proud of and something he got for doing something he enjoyed, but everyone's just like the kids at the track. Never mind the fact he's probably a bit of a nerd so everyone would make fun of him for that anyway, but now they're making fun of him because of driving and he really doesn't like that. But this time he knows what he has to do and he ignores them.

And when Michael Schumacher pops round one day and when he gets to meet his fucking idol he is over the moon and there is nothing that can take away from this day. Except when the kids at school find out - not through him - and are very jealous because you're not the only one who likes Schumacher, Seb. And they're annoyed because he didn't tell them and they couldn't meet him.

And poor baby Seb has virtually no friends at school and no friends on the track and he doesn't like it, but he's doing what he loves and he's getting to where he needs to be and he doesn't need friends so fuck them.

And then he gets to F1 and things go the exact same way. He's laughed at whenever he makes a mistake. Nobody wants to talk to him because he's proud of what he's done. What he's achieved. And Seb puts up the defence mechanisms and becomes the Seb we know and stops giving a shit about everything but he does. And it hurts when he's booed on the podium like it hurt when he'd be booed as a child. But he keeps going. Because he has a dream and he's going to achieve it and fuck everyone who doesn't want to help him and isn't necessary to get to where he wants to be.

And, yeah... Sorry about that.

This is a question more for you, as opposed to the boys…hope you don’t mind. :) Do you enjoy writing one more than the other? Do you find writing one harder than the other? If so, which and why?

This is an excellent question. 

I like writing them both for different reasons. Jim is more difficult for me to write, but often more rewarding. It's still a challenge for me to get inside his brain - I have an easier time figuring out how Sebastian would act in a situation than Jim. I'm going to sound like an Insane Person here, but the way I usually get to Jim is through Sebastian, because he knows him better than I do. (Sorry for the crazy, but... I'm a writer? Is that an excuse?) But when I feel like I get Jim /right/ it feels incredible. 

As far as Sebastian goes, I like him more as a person than Jim. I can relate to him better - he's my "in" so to speak when it comes to their relationship, and that's why most of DBliss is written sort of, behind his head more than Jim's.

Also, I like Sebastian because he's /my/ character. We obviously don't know him in BBC!verse, so what we have to go on is ACD canon and Kim Newman's book. Well, neither of those Sebs is in a relationship with my Jim, so obviously he had to be disassembled and rebuilt. And while I've borrowed from fanon and canon (tall, blonde, tiger etc) most of him as a person outside of, like, "facts about Seb" is mine <3
