Second Anniversary!
(Warning: Long Post.)
In all honesty, when that very hesitant band geek who’s also interested in Japanese games and anime decided to make their first post on a translations blog for a yet-to-be-released game Wind Boys! two full years ago, seeing that no one else’d made such a move yet, they seriously didn’t expect to still be at it two full years later.
And yet, here we are. Everything this past year’s been almost the same as the previous one, with the exception of two things.
The first is the most important – The fact that there’s news. We’re finally getting the game by the end of this year! Congratulations to all of us :’) Imagine translating for a game while constantly questioning whether it’ll even be released. It’s been really bad for the heart… Now that we’ve finally been given a release deadline of sorts, I absolutely can’t wait, and I sure the same goes for you all too.
And secondly, as some of you may know, I’ve brought over my translations to Twitter as well! I’m not going to lie, it’s really quite exhausting to manage both a Tumblr and a Twitter account, but I’ll go for it as long as my life schedule still allows me to. Anything to get more people interested in Wind Boys!, after all! But perhaps I’ll be taking things a little slowly from now on…
All of you from Tumblr have probably noticed from my non-translation posts that I’ve been dealing with a lot of motivation issues this past year. Wondering whether the work I’m translating is actually reaching out to people and being seen has always been a huge concern to me given the amount of effort and love I invest. Whether you’ve reached out to me to make me feel better, or have just passively enjoyed things from your likes and reblogs (I read all the tags, by the way!), thank you so, so much. For appreciating the work I do, and for letting me know that I’m not doing this for no one. For showing interest in me as a person outside of being ‘That Wind Boys! Translator’ as well.
So whether you’re new here or have been with me since the very start, thank you all once again. All 131 of you from Tumblr, and 185 of you from Twitter as well! (Although some of you are probably on both – I sure hope so!) It’ll be great if we could continue enjoying Wind Boys! content together, and look forward to its release sometime this year. Don’t forget to pre-register via Twitter, DMM Games, LINE, or email address if you haven’t already!
And hopefully, perhaps on our third anniversary a year from now, we can all be excited together over how wonderful the game is. :)
