Secondhand Love
When I look through the photos in my phone the only ones I haven't downloaded agree of you. You mean the world to me and I have always loved you. Always will. We've been friends, we've been lovers, and we've not known what we are at all. Sometimes you love me sometimes I'm just a friend. Whenever you're broken I'm the one you love. Your love builds me up and tears me down. I don't know how not to be the one who is second in your heart, but I will never not stop trying for you or stop being there for you. I know I deserve someone who puts me first but it's hard when you tell me you love me, when you're always there for me, and you protect me from even myself when no one else even sees what's going on. You also act like I'm no one important to you sometimes. Whenever you're hurting though you come to me. Maybe I'm the one that's first in your heart avg you're just scared, or maybe you'll see what you I finally am to you, maybe I'm something special to you and you're blinded right now by fear. Until then as hard as it may be I'll stand by you and hope you'll realize your true feelings for me, because I'm addicted to your love, even if it is second hand.
No one deserves secondhand love.
Don’t settle for someone because it’s easy, because they’ve come ready-made, because they already love you. There’s more to life than what’s simple and convenient and available. There’s struggling, striving, and holding onto the silly, inane, naive hope that maybe something perfect exists after all. And when you find something perfect, if you find someone perfect, they won’t be an ideal, of course, because no one is without their flaws. But there is bound to be someone who will be right for you in that moment. They will be what you’re looking for.
Don’t settle for someone just because it’s time you made a choice, and they just happened to be there the whole time. A person’s heart isn’t a consolation prize. Don’t settle for them because they’ve been there all along. No one deserves secondhand love.
