After sub zero weather, rain, snow, bad timing, and other things getting in my way, finally managed to ride Tali (19 days after her arrival). We've been working on the ground until now, from roundpen work to learning how to crosstie. In the past few days she has really started to open up, letting me see her funny side, and nickering at me when she is glad to see me. It's so ridiculous that the best medicine for having your heart broken by the death of your horse, is to get another horse, but it works. End of my first ride on Tali! We started in the roundpen, and then graduated to the big ring. Just walk/trot, since everything is so sloppy.
