Hi, hello. I hope your week is off to a pleasant start. Here's the progress update from the past week.
Chapter three is coming along nicely. The scenes of your first proper interactions with your neighbours are taking the most time, but progress is being made and the writing for the MC's first shift at work is just about done. I've got a new look for the game as well, and just need to migrate the content over to that new template. You'll be seeing that with the chapter three update. I'm unsure how long that migration will take, so I'm hesitant to give an exact date for when the demo will be updated. It shouldn't be long at this point.
As always, thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day.
The Secret Things Belong to God
The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children for ever, to do all the words of this law.
The LORD our God hasn't explained the present or the future, but he has commanded us to obey the laws he gave to us and our descendants. — Deuteronomy 29:29 | Brenton Septuagint Translation (BST) and Contemporary English Version (CEV) The English translation of The Septuagint by Sir Lancelot Charles Lee Brenton (1851) and the Holy Bible, Contemporary English Version Copyright © 1995 by American Bible Society. You know Ellis, you are a very lovely poet. I would like to pick one of your poems, but I really love each and every one. My opinion would be to write a book and include each one, leaving none of your work out.
Here is just one that is lovely to me~
“I know a place beyond that hill where we could stay a while, and shelter from the autumn chill, and sleep till we’re not tired. We’ll lay our hearts down close enough to keep each other warm, and share a dream of violet fields, and wake to see the dawn.”
That means so much, thank you for the feedback! Alas, there have been a few casualties in the editorial process but I just wanted to make sure I didn’t sacrifice anything that would be missed *too* terribly... You’ll see soon!
Working on a literal shit tonne of stuff right now, but the last six sentences of the day are for a very special thing for a very special buddy. @hodgehegposts, start guessing!
A confession. That’s what it is. What it starts as.
It’s a lopsided smile on lips that taste like vodka jello, warm and sticky sweet. It’s a body propped up against the doorjamb when he’s got a dozen star charts yet to plot -- and not one of them is as bright as the light in those eyes.
“Before you start, I know you’ve got homework.” A breath that shakes slightly on the exhale. “I missed you, though.”
Let us look for secret things. somewhere in the world, on the blue shore of silence or where the storm has passed, rampaging like a train. There the faint signs are left, coins of time and water, debris, celestial ash and the irreplaceable rapture of sharing in the labour of solitude and the sand.
