I had dinner with my fiance's parents earlier today.
And they love the idea, which I'm thrilled about.
They brought a notebook entitled "The List" so they had a place to take notes while we talked. They used it once to write down the date I picked.
With my handy dandy binder already filled with stuff and my excel spreadsheet of a budget, needless to say they were rather impressed.
They said they'd pay for my bouquet, the rehearsal dinner, and I think something else, following the traditional finances behind weddings.
It felt so good getting all of this out in the open. Keeping secrets from people who really should know tears me apart inside and I don't always handle it very well.
While we were at dinner, my dad called to update me on my birthday plans with my sister (oh yea, my birthday is next Thursday, on the 6th). Turns out my sister won't be flying out, but instead they are all driving down and meeting me in Anaheim to go to Disneyland together. Which means this is a pretty good time to tell them. Both his and my parents will be meeting in May so it'd be better to get them all on the same page before then.
I still can't believe this is happening
It’ll be any old wedding. It can be blessed by the Catholic church later if we decide to do so. We don’t have time to go through the process necessary beforehand anyway.
