There are 5 main races in the World of Drakes world:
Humans, Elves, Draecons (Drakes), Sectus, and Sygis. [the terms draecon and drake are interchangeable]
Each race has their own differences and similarities in culture, for example, Sygis tend to live in trees and forests in communities rather than towns, a draecons tend to let children fend for themselves at a younger age.
among races there tends to be a lot of hybridization and such, which is one of the things that led to certain species of draecons like avian ones existing in the first place. (Avian draecons are a hybrid of Harpies and Common draecons that stabilized into their own thing.)
Sygis started off as a weird hybrid of harpies and humans called ‘Vultures’ that eventually became their own thing. I’ll probably go more in depth on harpies later.
Sectus are the only Insectoid race, and have no sex/concept of gender, as all sectus are hermaphrodiac. (They are the only species that can’t breed with the others.) They can’t speak the common tongue due to having bug mouths, so they use special translators to communicate. More on them some other time.
