6. Fred The Angel by Martin Waddell 'Bless you, Hermione,' said Fred. 'That was lovely. You remind me of rice puddings'

7. Just Kids by Patti Smith 'He was the artist of my life.' Ella shared this book with me. It's one of the greatest gifts she ever gave me.

8. Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh This book is summer time and wine and strawberries on the lawn. 

9. Dream Boy by Jim Grimsley 'It is a relief that they could feel each other, that they were in the same world.' For all it's faults this book haunts me, and it was my anchor when writing my dissertation. 

10. The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets by Eva Rice For me, this book is an escape into a life I think I should have been a part of. 1950s records, dresses, drinking and dancing.
