NISCのハンドブックでは、パスワードの文字列には「英大文字小文字＋数字＋記号で10桁以上」を推奨している。法則性があるなど推測しやすいものでないければ特に制限していない。以前よく言われていた、人が読めないような「複雑な文字列」でなくても、「推測されにくく十分に長い文字列」であればパスワードとして使ってよい。 　それでもパスワードの数が多くなると覚えるのは困難だ。そこでハンドブックでは、「ノートに書く」「インターネットに接続しないパスワード管理ソフトで管理する」の2つの方法を提示している。パスワードを紙に書くなと言われる時期もあったが、パスワードを書いた紙をパソコンの周囲に置かなければ問題ないとしている。また、パソコンを乗っ取られたことを想定して、パスワードを記録したファイルをパソコン上に保存したり、Webブラウザーの自動入力機能を使ったりすることも推奨していない。Webブラウザーの自動入力機能はパスワード管理ソフトに準じるものとして、利用を推奨されていたこともあった。ハンドブックでは、Webブラウザーの自動入力機能からパスワードのリストを攻撃者に持っていかれるリスクを挙げている。

Monday, March 22, 2021 // study with me

I took this week off of work to study for my upcoming Conduct and Practices Handbook exam. I've come close to passing twice now but have fallen short by about 4-5 questions both times. This is the last time I'll be able to write this exam before having to purchase the whole course again so fingers crossed I'll be able to pass this time! Passing would mean an increase in my pay as well as my securities license.

While I'll be studying urban and regional planning this fall (whether in college or university) and I'll be transitioning to a career in this field within the next 2-3 years, I want to be able to financially support myself through school. I don't want to take out additional student loans so I'll be relying primarily on my own savings and whatever grants, bursaries, and scholarships I can get my hands on.
