Putting the camera on the ground always means that critters will stop by too. I noticed that safflower is a good way to keep squirrels at bay, they do not seem to care much for it. I read somewhere that it tastes bitter to them. However, the newest member of my backyard family does not seem to be so picky. This Chipmunk just started showing up recently. It is only one, and we call it Mr. Vacuum. (darned, pre-coffee typos!)

Growing plants from seed is so exciting. I have been collecting seeds from my neighborhood plants so I can try to grow my own, so far I’ve found: acanthus (only one seed, because many of them rot), mirabilis, jacarandas, roses (that I don’t think will sprout), cassia didymobotria and red cannas, which are already going very well 

Any tips for them to successfully make it?
