which no one ever notices --
i looked back into his,
couldn't parse the change between blue and green,
the wavelengths are so close together --
couldn't mention the wavelengths,
people don't like talking about wavelengths,
especially when we're drinking --
couldn't mention it doesn't really matter
because his eyes are the sea
and that depth renders the hue irrelevant --
the sea and everything in it
and me, the earth and everything lurking in the dust
and the third of us, the sky and everything floating through the wind --
