So tomorrow is one of my Bad Days re: Grief. But its also a Good Day re: Seemingly Dark's 7th Anniversary, which i posted on June 17th one year after the last conversation i ever had with my dad before he died a week later. im in the middle of con crunch for this weekend, but tomorrow (June 17th 2025) ill post a piece i made, trivia, and some of my fave unhinged panels from the comic throughout the day. It would kinda mean the world to me if maybe those of you who read the comic you think of something you like about SD specifically, how you found it, a fave scene, a prediction, a song or anything in the realm of the comic and share it with me tomorrow (or now, whenever) in the notes, ask box, tags or comments! just if you feel like it. anyway thanks for being here and always being so patient and kind with me. What is Seemingly Dark?

Follow Mickey, the widower mailman as he struggles to raise his daughter with the support from his friends from the local punk rock coffee shop. Maddie’s trying to solve mysteries, John just wants to get out from the shadow of his abusive dad, and world famous podcaster Caro is hiding secrets of their own. As if that’s not enough, Mickeys being haunted, and when he picks up the teenage hitchhiker on the outskirts of town, he may have unleashed the apocalypse!

A story of hope, filled with found family tropes and full of queer centric characters, if you’re looking for a slow burn mystery with a big dose of all things supernatural, my story will be right up your alley!

Okay okay I'm starting secrets in sd and two things - firstly, did Caro just *dump John via note*????? Shrieking crying etc???

Secondly I've been thinking for a while that A and Rose could be really fun friends, so I'm very happy to see them having out :)

**Spoiler Alert *** HA YES i'm so sorry, their relationship is a rocky one (they look all cute in art and on paper but theres toxic levels of codependency and non-communication there. overcoming who they are as adults vs who they were as kids, both seeing eacother as they were not as they are etc!) Caro's...not used to real relationships. they are more of a FWB and one night stand type. they dont catch feelings easily or fall in love (aro caro you say?) except for this one guy, and it scares them to death. everything scares them. so yea, sad to say. I think the nice thing about John and Caro is telling a sad story backwards, especially since you read ML first, you at least know things will progress past that.

I LOVE A and Rose. I'm not completely sure where i'll be going with any friendship etc between them but their dynamic is one of my favorites to write and I'm glad you're enjoying it! <3 <3

Glowing Eyes by Twenty One Pilots. Something about the song being a total bop while the lyrics speak of being trapped in the darkness of yourself just really speaks to me when it comes to the hitchhiker. He knows he should find a way to free himself. but he's afraid of what he will find on the other side, he's used to being in position he's in. Juxtaposition of happy joyful boy consumed by darkness.

Also obviously the imagery, darkness, being trapped, literal glowing eyes all a big part of his story <3
