Lesson for Leaders: Deciding to not follow through with the work is not the same as the work not working. Consider definitions we’ve been taught: Success; A good fit; A good leader; Profitable ideas; qualifications for job roles; Safe community; Impact; Solutions; Many of these things were defined without consideration to diversity, equity, or inclusion. Therefore, the necessary path forward may not resonate, be comfortable, or happen at the pace most desired. The same passion that spurred you into action, is needed to remain focused, committed, and diligent. Don’t forfeit progress due to a lack of emotional endurance. Stay the course. The race wasn’t given to the swift, nor the fight to the strong, but to the one who endures to the end!
