Whatever happened to this letter?

Agatha never gets it, that I remember. Did An Emergency strike and rescue Gil? Did Higgs take mercy on the guy who hasn’t slept for two and a half years? Or…

Did Seffie steal his letter? The letter isn’t specifically mentioned here, or later in the page when they list his other mail, but this is just 13 pages after Higgs threw a pen at Gil’s face, and apparently Seffie does this all the time.

On the other hand, I can easily imagine Gil just finding some way to squirm out of that letter.

At this point I'm starting to think the only person in Paris who didn't know Colette was in love with Seffie was Seffie.

Okay, so, like I said, you can tell Seffie and Colette have Won My Heart because I started working out ideas for a Good Omens AU for them and that’s what I do for ships I am really invested in but also I like having my Good Omens AUs come in ‘pairs’ with a reverse AU for Crowley and Aziraphale. So, like, in this case an AU where Crowley and Aziraphale are in Europa as a pair of nobles from ‘Rival Houses’ acting as secondary characters in a hypothetical version of Girl Genius where everyone’s a bit more middle-aged.

And the thing is that the Crowley - Selfie roleswaps is a pretty easy fit cause it’s like “feels doomed to cold political machinations and assumed to be evil and scheming by default just because of their shitty family” = “feels doomed to messing people around and assumed to be evil and scheming by default just because they're a demon” and that works pretty smoothly.

But then you have the Aziraphale - Colette roleswaps. Trying to make the role of the woman who is the physical incarnation of Paris herself fit with the Angel who is so aggressively English he can’t even pretend to be French.

I see two solutions to this. Either this AU is also some sort of an Albia/Voltaire roleswap so that Aziraphale can be from London and still fulfil Colette’s narrative role. Which is the simplest solution narrative-wise, although the implications for the greater setting of Europa might be kinda needlessly complicated for what’s just supposed to be a Noble/Spark AU for Crowley and Aziraphale?

Or Aziraphale is still the heir of the Master of Paris, but he got shipped off to Londinium at a very young age for the sake of academics or diplomacy or something and he spent so much of his formative years there he basically ended up as the World’s Most English Frenchman.

Which is maybe a bit more convoluted character-wise, but it doesn’t require to change anything major about the setting and most importantly, I think it is very very funny.

So this is far from the likeliest possibility for Seffie’s arc but the funniest option is definitely that she comes to terms with her sexuality before she manages to reconcile with Colette and also before she fully untangles out her Valois incapability to separate romantic interest from political opportunism and also her general Issues with pursuing the Most Romantically Unreachable Person She Can Find and so she moves on from trying to seduce Gil to spending like half an arc being romantically fixated on Agatha instead.

Agatha: What happened?  Seffie: Grandma took over Paris from right under Colette’s nose and now Colette is mad at me because she thinks I was part of the plan and then I think she implied she had *feelings* for me and now I think I might have feelings for her too??? But I literally just realized it and she’s mad at me and thinks I’ve been intentionally seducing her as part of Grandma’s plan and I don’t know what to do???? Agatha: Wait Agatha: You’re telling me you and Collette weren’t *already* together?? Selfie: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
