The Quartet theme by Katsuhiro Hayashi exemplifies a perfection of synth power-pop in an upper echelon shared only by masterpieces of the form, such as Van Halen's "Jump" or Hall & Oates' "Head Above Water." I can easily imagine the song as the theme for the ascension of the floating bio-dome pictured in the attached illustration, from the game's manual, an image appropriate to both the grandeur and the slight touch of melancholy that somehow pervades the sugar-shined melodies that sparkle throughout.
