Let's Assassinate Homelessness 2022!

Hello everyone!

Just a reminder that this Tuesday the 25th of Jan at 6pm GMT, running through until Feb 1st 6pm GMT I will be playing through the whole Assassin's Creed series (core games) for the duo of Homeless charities, Crisis UK ( https://www.crisis.org.uk/ ) and Crawley Open House ( https://www.crawleyopenhouse.co.uk/ ) .

Between each I'll also be playing Jackbox titles with chat, running self playing games during rest periods, and have multiple donation incentives, from digital games (graciously provided by devolver digital https://www.devolverdigital.com/ ), physical items (badges, tees, painting commissions), to bonus game stream unlocks.

The stream will be in two halves, part one will track crawley open house and cover assassin's creed 1 through 4 (black flag). Stream 2 will cover the remaining games and focus on Crisis UK. You can donate to Both charities the whole time though, and links will be available in the stream and under the stream in the about me, and all over the socials.

too many tumblr too little time

I went through my digital life and cleaned out quite a bit this week. I always did enjoy having a good clean out but never really too the time to do so for my digital side. This was mostly a case of carving out my waterfox (yes I’m a filthy waterfox user) bookmarks and clearing out the multitude of sites I don’t  use or hardly visit.

I still have a fairly long list of websites to hit daily, but it’s much less of a chore, a much more organized list, ordered in priority.

It’s my goal to better my life, creativity and productivity.

It has always been my personal dream to get into writing about the games industry to some extent on a professional level. Yet I am of an age that puts that goal at much more of an disadvantage than it would have been. Being someone who started from a position of already social-financial disadvantage, this idea was already a steep climb. Under educated, partially due to a poor education system and more than reasonably due to my own failings. Raised in an environment of relative poverty and with little opportunity to start on a good footing. I had allowed my place in the world to be an anchor chaining me to one spot. Seemingly incapable of moving forward.

My mental heath has also been a problem, one I allowed to envelope me for too long. It’s very easy to say, “oh I’ll just ignore how this effects me, better myself” I know, yet I too easily allowed this to be something to hold me in place. Crush me under it’s weight. Many of those I admire have the same problems and have made better of themselves at a younger age.

I stretched myself thin here too, creating many project tumblrs, projects close to my heart. As you may be able to tell, I love games, care about the preservation and archiving of games and game history. Hence why I created some of the tumblr projects I did. Yet I’ve been unable to work on these. This is partly do to time commitment. Partly also to equipment failings. My PC is literally on its last legs (yes my PC has legs), and the scanner-printer I had been using for a number of things has completely broken down. I want to add more items to these projects, but until I can obtain working gear I’m stuck twiddling my thumbs.

I plan to refocus on all these projects soon, but for the moment it’s a case of re-plotting and clearing out. building a better foundation to build on.
