We should start this post by including a few caveats up front - 1) I do like Hodinkee, and when they stick to what they know, they are great; and 2) everyone makes mistakes, including myself, re: vintage Seiko - Seiko made crazy numbers of watches and model variants back in the day, up through contemporary times. Couple that with the flagrant numbers of quality AM parts out there, and it can be difficult - but not impossible - to determine what's legit and what's not. Above said, the pictures in this Hodinkee buyers guide are egregious #feiko, and embarrassingly so. While the article itself had some good, sound advice, the watches chosen to represent vintahe Seiko leave much to be desired. Bottom line here, Hodinkee is good at repping Rolex and the like. But for those of us that are #seikoholics, stick to periodicals like @fratellowatches and @wornandwound, as well as the forums, for your Seiko fix.
