LIP x LIP - Song Recommendations

I’ve decided to put the songs first then some info and my opinion after!

小さなライオン - This is one of my favourites from them despite being the newest (I think). Cats are cute. I also just like it because it sounds happy. But if a cat is interested in a human like that, does that make the cat a reverse-furry? That totally wasn’t my first thought while watching this... haha...

Fun fact: That cat (who does sing a verse or two) is voiced by Toshiyuki Toyonaga!

Romeo (ロメオ) - I don’t know fam. If I was that princess, I’d choose one of the guys in armour. Armour is cool, and they’re probably better-looking than these guys with awful haircuts. I’m just saying.

Non-Fantasy (ノンファンタジー) - If you haven’t gotten the hint yet, these videos are supposed to be really cheesy. That’s why I listen to the song first alone. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t do that.

Koi wo Shiyou (恋をしよう) - English Subs and the actual story (video) behind it -> That link is for a subbed English video where you’ll basically get to see the music video and the story.

Side note: They 110% look like when Spongebob went with his sea friend to the Bubble Bowl. Just try convincing me otherwise.

I can’t fit any more videos so any other links to songs will be below along with my side notes, info, and opinions!

Yume Fanfare (夢ファンファーレ)  I haven’t watched the actual video yet. I’ve only listened to the audio. I only made it through the first few seconds of the video. As usual, it’s kind of cringy. 

ジャッジ☆  I like how they try a bit of a different style of music. It adds to the variety of it. 

LIP x LIP is an idol unit from the Honeyworks universe. 

I liked a lot of the Honeyworks before, and I happen to like Kouki Uchiyama and Nobunaga Shimazaki. Kouki plays some really entertaining serial killers and insane people while Nobunaga plays mostly bishounen (good-looking guys). Nobunaga is known for playing a guy who’s weirdly attracted to water (Haruka from Free!) but I know him as Shinichi from Parasyte. He’s a die-hard fan of Love Live, so I find it kind of ironic how he is often playing those roles and being an “idol” in his own right.

While Nobunaga has performed live. I haven’t seen Kouki do much besides voice acting on stage (which is odd since he’s literally a trained actor who came from the same company as Mamo and Ryohei). In fact, he has only done character songs up until this point. I’m not sure how good he is live, and I’m about doubtful about his singing abilities, so until I see proof he can be good live, I’m just going to assume that the sound mixing guy is crying on the inside.

Within the Honeyworks universe, they have seiyuu that consists of (just to name a few...): Haruka Tomatsu, Hiroshi Kamiya, Aki Toyosaki, Kenichi Suzumura, Kana Asumi, Yuuki Kaji, Sora Amamiya, Hikaru Midorikawa, Yonaga Tsubasa, Momo Asakura, and Natsuki Hanae. Nao Touyama and Yoshimasa Hosoya are also cast, but their characters don’t speak in the movies (or barely) and there are no songs that I know of (yet). That cat is also voiced by Toshiyuki Toyonaga, so I’m just going to say that he’s now canonly part of the universe.

But lastly, I just wanted to add something I put in my video’s description a while back where I gave a candid opinion about these character’s hair:

I didn't know that the two guys in the music video were idols for a while because I thought that they didn't look as good as the people in the main cast (Confession Committee). I'm not used to all of those asymmetrical haircuts I guess. They kind of remind me of what would happen if a barber with a blindfold came in with a lawnmower that he used with his left foot to cut a person's hair.

Not to be harsh or anything. That’s just my opinion. Anime characters just have weird hair. I, on the other hand, just have disgusting, greasy, uncut hair.
