For those who don't know, Scopophobia is the fear of being watched and having pictures taken of you.
Selaphobia is the fear of bright flashing lights.
Her Cleithrophobia is directly associated with pictures, meaning shes afraid of getting stuck in pictures.
It stems from trauma where she used to read the old "if you take a picture of yourself with this camera, you will die and something horrible will happen" books, which escalated into her family bullying her and teasing her into thinking she was actually going to be hurt if any pictures were taken of her.
They would chase her with cameras and flash the strobe lights from the shutters in her eyes until she screamed and cried.
She was only 5 when they started doing this and she is now 17. Sometimes they still do it.
She is not a 'grown ass woman' and even if she was, it wouldn't matter. I call her my wife jokingly.
She has every right to be afraid of cameras and having her picture taken, and who the fuck are you to hide behind the anonymous asks and bully her like that?
Because she has a RATIONAL fear of cameras. Her fear of having her picture taken is absolutely normal considering what happened to her. I kid you not, shes never had her picture taken. Not on picture day, not for her license, not for the doctors office, nothing.
