It’s kinda weird being a pioneer in the Selkiecore, cuz I genuinely hoped it would be bigger by now but if anything it’s dwindling and relatively unpopular in the realm of internet x livelihood aesthetics 🦭

Since I am a selkie, I think it’s important to keep the aesthetic going, so I’m incorporating it more into my life - everything from fashion to daily living

Recently made a wire wrapped moonstone necklace with vintage leather and a seashell and it’s giving off major Selkiecore energy that I totally love!

It literally looks like it’s from the sea (and some of it is!)

My faux sealskin arrived and it’s so beautiful!

It’s as soft as it looks too, and it feels so affirming to have

It’s large enough to cover my back, and small enough I can discreetly take it pretty much anywhere. Brought it with on a hike in the woods today to a secret pond so I could get some epic pics for y’all ♡

Eventually I’d like to make an even larger one that’s more silvery colored and be more gray with spots to match my largha seal coloring and that I could actually cover my entire body with, yet this is good enough for now 🦭💙

A selkie’s skin has many uses

Such as holding ice packs to sleep on while in your human form to prevent you from overheating at night ❄️

I’ve had a problem with overheating since I was born, and it’s gotten worse as I’ve aged (hormonal hot flashes suck, and the truth is no one is too young to get them!) even when it’s like 40 degrees out or even cooler, you’ll catch me in shorts and a tshirt and flipflops all year long (it can’t get very cold in the PNW but the colder the better for me).

As a largha seal, I’m supposed to live in more arctic temperatures most of the time, so sleeping on ice is super helpful for my species dysphoria, and also keeps me from overheating - win win!✨

Anybody else out there sleep with ice packs? 👀

It’s just a bunch of sea glass and shells soldered together and omg it’s better than a Tiffany piece!
