(Not a request. Just an idea for the self aware au.)
Imagine self-aware PLA, but your favorite Pokemon is arceus himself.
And you’re the type of person to get excited about your favorite Pokemon whenever they show up. And even talk to them, or about them, like they’re your kid.
So everyone can hear you, the voice in the sky, talk about arceus as if he’s your baby.
And since arceus is self aware too, he’s just confused about why you think of him this way.
He doesn’t have a parent in his world, he just exists, so he’s never felt or received any parental love before.
He’s the god of the people of his world, but you’re the god of everyone, plus him. He’s technically beneath you. And yet, you talk about him, and to him, like you consider him your child. As if he’s an equal. As if he’s precious to you.
Also, imagine self aware Volo reacting to all of this. The fact that the true god considers the false god as their baby. As someone they treasure. As someone they want to protect. As someone they feel parental love for.
Arceus when you gush about them being your favorite pokemon:
Volo meanwhile is going. Insane in the membrane.
What do you MEAN the real god still adores the false god?
Though after thinking about it, suddenly it dawns on him.
Of course you'd still love them, they are your creation, even if Arceus has taken credit for your work! You are a loving god, even showing a false god your favor and adoration.
Volo deludes himself over it, even if it leaves a sour taste in his mouth you'd like Arceus the most. It at least makes sense in his mind. It's one of the few ways he can cope with it.
Arceus though is ecstatic, even if they don't show it much. Though their knowledge in what you are, and your existence is limited, they are pleased you like them so much. Especially when you play with them and do little challenges.
It's a nice feeling, being noticed and wanted, in a way that's different than people who seek them and their power. You simply just seem to enjoy and love Arceus' existence.
Hey guys! I was wondering if y’all would like a continuation of my self aware Volo. I have a few ideas of how to continue it, but it might take awhile due to school stuff and all. Don’t worry tho, I have a 2 week break soon so I’ll get right back to it!
If you guys want a continuation, which person’s POV would you like to read first: Volo’s, Arceus’ or your’s/the player’s? I just want a small idea of what people want first before I write it.

so it's no common knowledge that despite arceus's role in the game, its still a puppet that bends to the whim of the code, the game and the script. a peon is still a peon even if you give him a fancy title and new clothes. but what if it wasnt like that?
the way i see it, i think in a self aware scenario, arceus will essentially act as an extension of the player; but whereas the player can only observe events from a higher perspective as a figure that always watches yet never interferes, arceus will actually try to prevent some events (so long as the game doesn't spit in its face for doing so). primarily stuff like the protagonist's banishment from jubilife and the very little assassination attempt volo tried to pull. in a way, it sees rei/akari as a child the way you do. but while you are (in arc's eyes) an omnipotent being that it knows it cannot question or act against and defy, arceus is still in a fair playing field. and the wrath of Horse God is just as equal to that of a parent.
Arceus sees your potential from the moment it asks for your name, the player, at the very beginning of the game. How it talks to you in it's realm outside space and time.
It may have been very brief, but it was enough for Arceus to grow aware of you. How you are a being much past their own.
It's an odd realization, but even Arceus had considered the possibility that something had created itself a long time ago.
And Arceus quickly learns from there on just how much you grow attached to the Hero, your little vessel.
However... You have your limits. Or perhaps you simply have your own rules or reasons not to interfere with things? Only having a small amount of control?
Yet it sees how much you care. You aren't letting some bad things happen because you want them to.
It's like there is a veil, between you and the universe Arceus sees over. One you cannot cross.
No worries though. Arcues will do it's best to protect the hero for you.
Especially when it sees the inevitable outcome for the Hero, how horribly they are treated later on.
Arceus won't let it slide with ease.
Meanwhile, for the life of you, you can't figure out why your switch sometimes crashes, or how certain pokemon appear in places they shouldn't. Or the way you see shinies a lot easier than in other games. You have even had friends comment on your luck.
Every other hour you encounter a shiny, or a rare pokemon. Or one you shouldn't see in that area. And for some reason, you swear things are different than you remember in your first playthrough.
You just hope your game isn't corrupted, but... at least nothing seems broken. If anything, your luck is unusually high. Especially how you seem not to take near as much damage as you used to, or getting lucky in a battle or looking for a pokemon with a specific move.
Though... you are a bit concerned about the garbled mess NPCs speak sometimes. But it usually corrects itself. Most of the time.
Gods imagine self aware arceus knowing he needs to stick to a script knows he shouldn’t interfere but when that cocky human commander kicks the vessel of his destined trainer out of the village he is livid. Just protective self aware llama god
They’d be so upset if he can’t do anything for their favorite vessel for the god above them.
If Arceus is stuck to the same strings, no doubt its upset, especially if you, the player, are upset. It would love nothing more than to right this wrong, but is stuck to the same script.
Arceus would at least be the most likely to be able to break the code if it wanted! Maybe it will get its vengeance sooner than anticipated?
Self aware Arceus sees player as his destined trainer. He's a god, you're 'a god' and this would only strength peoples belief that you're one. Arceus would either not want anyone to be with his trainer since they're so divine or he'd play matchmaker/wingman constantly since he believes that they should have as many heir as possible.
Thats actually a pretty cool concept!

It’d especially would make sense since Arceus more or less DOES talk with the player in the beginning of PLA, not the hero.
Realistically they’d probably leave all romantic affairs to you, but the idea of Arceus trying to play matchmaker is really funny to me.
