me rn letting all my friends know i pulled one of my teeth (again)
Ok, STORY TIME! So I cracked a tooth while I was staying at my bother's house over new years. It was under the gum line, with the root in tact. The broken piece was held on by the live nerve, but shifted constantly, causing a hell of a lot of pain and annoyance. The other bit was holding onto the root, so was sturdy, but had a small fracture along where I broke the moving bit under the gum line.
Called my dentist, and was told I had to wait to get an appointment because apparently everyone comes out of the fucking woodwork to get dentistry done at the beginning of the year.
So, an appointment made for a couple weeks from when it broke but, as one can imagine, the fucking tooth shifted (root still staying in tact) and the nerve died.
Being the idiot that I am, and knowing this thing will not get fixed for a little over a week from now, I thought, screw it, and pulled both broken pieces myself. Root still there and in need of extraction (since the nerve is dead), but I guess now I can add "self dentistry" to my list of skills.
To make matters even more hilarious, appointment was canceled so they could fit someone in for an emergency thing. I hope that person is OK as I wait patiently for an opening so I can remove the dead molar root from my jaw.
Good news, I can now eat solid food again and I lost 4lbs!
