#the defining decade#meg jay#self helpless#it was a good book#this quote is one of the ones that stuck with me#I definitely grew up in the mindset of putting your career first then having a family later#the financial security was a big factor#and the break from working/building a career when a kid comes along didn't seem ideal#but the life stuff and the career building can happen at the same time and it can make the journey more fulfilling I think now
