💡, 🎟 & 🎞 please! Thanks! 😊
Thank you for the ask @eliooliver83 !! I’m sorry for the delay in responding. I honestly love getting these things though - such a good distraction ♥️
💡 what hobby did you start doing most recently?
...probably talking to people online? (Truly, both ahead of and behind the times, lol.) In all seriousness, I’d never really chatted with people I didn’t know until burrowing my way into the CMBYN fandom, but I’m really glad I did so here. I’ve made some online friends and irl friends (who are, for the time being, no longer irl and back to online only), and it’s been nice to find people who I can shout with about things we have in common. (Also realizing I desperately need more hobbies 😬.)
🎟 what are some artists/bands whose music brings back childhood memories for you?
I grew up on Long Island so Billy Joel was EVERYWHERE basically from birth to present (he was also the first concert I ever went to, when I was nine). I’m the oldest, so a lot of my childhood music was whatever my parents listened to (making it seem like I am 20-30 years older than I am) - family road trips were scored by Billy, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, the Eagles, Jim Croce, Carole King, Lesley Gore, etc. and a ton of 50s doo-wop, 60s Brit pop, and 70s singer-songwriters. Once I got into my own music it was a few years of Spice Girls, *NSYNC, Britney Spears, then onto Dashboard Confessional, the Ataris, Yellowcard, Death Cab for Cutie, and the like. Also Coldplay (un-ironically and with no regrets) and the Killers. Way too many to name them all, but all hold special and distinctive places in my memory! I grew up such a fan of music - listening to it, making it, writing it - and my interests and influences are plentiful.
🎞 what movie(s)/TV show(s) do you find comforting to watch?
Field of Dreams and When Harry Met Sally are my two favorite movies of all time, so they’re definites. Pretty Woman is a favorite go-to that’s seemingly on tv constantly. (Sleepless in Seattle and The American President are probably on the list too.) I have a ton of movies I love, but I’m also not super likely to put on a movie if I’m by myself - it’s usually tv. Right now my go-tos are Schitt’s Creek, Bob’s Burgers, Nailed It, and almost any cooking competition show that food network has to offer - truly, currently the balm to my weary, anxious soul.
