Strawberries are wild. I know this. I respect this. The whole runners situation. The way they pop up once it's like 50F.
Anyway, I thought my strawberries had weeds growing in their pot, and then I realized it was just the strawberry putting up new leaves. Initial view with reaction of "weeds?!" The 2nd pot is from when I had to gently discourage the strawberries from annexing the haricot vert next door, and I placed a pot with dirt (failed spinach attempt) under the runner instead.
Then I investigated further...
Dear strawberries I love you and I WILL ASSIST your journey to make it to the ground from my 2nd story porch this year(Last year they made it 6 ft down from the porch with runners. I can make this happen.).
Also I feel the need to stress that the reason I get stressed about weeds is that I feel so terribly guilty pulling them up. Thinning seedlings is a nightmare. I was not meant for this power over life and death. V morally distressing.
