Can we compile a list of Good Self-Stims to share around?
For Example; Leggy Bounce.
I'd share others but that's all i know ;o; Hence why I want us to work together and make a list! 😁💖💖

So today I noticed that I stim! And I've always been stimming since I can remember, only it's not very obvious because my mom would get irritated at me when I made noises or was in public so I had to learn to minimize them. But when I'm alone I'm always moving some part of my body or humming or making noises. Today I was on my bed and became acutely aware that I was rocking and then I realized that I've always done that and that this has been a part of me for a long time and I thought I'd share!
Thank you for sharing!! Stimming can get suppressed a lot as a result of being ridiculed for it, so I’m really glad you were able to recognize your stims despite that. Stims can be really helpful with stress and things like that!! :) thank you, anon!!

good: being neurotypical and using stim toys because they help you
bad: being neurotypical and using stim toys as a fad, only to throw them out and make fun of neurodivergents that continue to use them after the fad is over
I was going through your blog and I found this post you reblogged: *post/174881436878/bizarre-neurodivergence-things and point one is nesting. Is this getting all wrapped up in blankets? Because that's what I immediately thought of and if that's the case, OH BOY
Stuff like that, yeah! It’s smthn that isn’t rlly talked about a lot bc it’s not necessarily JUST an ADHD/autism thing, but a lot of ppl do it, yes! For me I usually think of it as like a stim/sensory thing. Like when I go into “nesting mode” I get sat right in the middle of my bed with a bunch of snacks and books and drinks and I make sure I have a ton of blankets and pillows all around me and it’s quiet and it’s really nice. It’s a nice way to calm down after some bad sensory experiences. Not everyone does it, but from what I’ve seen, it’s pretty common! :)
Imagine this: L sometimes self-stims by spinning around in a swivel chair and humming to himself while “Africa” by Toto plays in the background.
Updated with adorable Tumblr gif. Blessed visual. ☺️
