Newly (and reluctantly) chosen as the divine champions of the fallen gods, Masaomi, Shiori, Youji and Hinami have joined the Magpie rebels and plot their next steps to overthrowing the tyrannical rule of the grand dragons while coming to terms with the much-regretted psychic bond between them. Their next mission? Infiltrate Silver Pearl, the realm of the White Dragon, to steal his artifact of power. The White Dragon who also happens to be Masaomi's grandfather.

Almost as soon as they enter Silver Pearl, disaster strikes. An unknown enemy for grand dragons and Magpie rebels alike attack the city and steal the artifact before they can. Separated from each other, surrounded by enemies, and not sure who to trust, the four divine champions have to find a way to complete the mission and exit the city. Worst of all, they're beginning to learn they aren't in control of their new powers, and perhaps the biggest threat of all is the divine aspect that connects them.

I was rereading Shine the Brightest and love it even more the second time! Everything about it from the worldbuilding to the OT4 dynamic is just *chef's kiss* amazing. Thank you creating such amazing characters, and I can't wait to see what more you have in store for them! <333

ALSO it gives me the excuse to announce that the second book in The Magpie Chronicles is currently with my beta readers, and will hopefully be published soon! I kept thinking I should probably announce that... but then kept not announcing it...

But yes! Second one coming soon! It doesn't have a title yet because I am super bad at titles, but as soon as it does, I'll announce that too =D

And I'm excited for the second book, because you get to see more of the other original characters who didn't have much of an appearance in the first one, including Michiru, Setsuna and Shigure, and Yumeko! Also Masaomi's cousins, who I actually also meant to include in "This Is Love (I Never Loved So Much)" but then that story was getting so long that there was never the right time to include Masaomi's cousins, so they ended up being left out. I was really glad to be able to use some of the backstory I had initially come up with for them =)
