Do you use any particular equipment when filming your self tapes and monologues? Asking as I am hoping to become an actor and would like to practice self-taping! :)

I use my phone, a camera stand, and a very old, very busted ring light. I also have several 'audition' shirts, plain T-shirts in red, yellow, and blue.

I sometimes put on foundation as well, but haven't in the last few.

Sometimes I get a call for a self-tape 5 hours before it’s due. At the time, I was grumpy at the amount of work and the lack of notice and the plans I would have to cancel to get it all done.

But now, sat on the couch curled up under a blanket editing away, I’ve been hit by a new wave of gratitude that I get to spend my evenings doing this because I truly, truly love my job.
