"Vanfro", we live in such a time, that people deeply admire old original artists, but don't emulate ANYTHING they actually stood for! Like working hard on your OWN style and flow. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of people who have inspired me, but I do not seek to be their clone. That's disgusting....so if you're doing that...you need to repent! Get your own swag! With that said, I decided to make that message more clearly with this piece. If you think about the title and study the art flow, you'll see that it's my own spin-off version of a Van-gogh style of work. I admire his unique flow and color patterns, but to me, it would be disrespectful to copy it completely. And my mother-in-law claims I don't make enough Afro centric artwork, plus, I finished it on my mother's birthday. So yeah, this is a pretty deep piece, hope you can relate. "Light Wars", because the battle against light and darkness is a popular concept for all cultures. Without it, whatever story told has no dept and therefore leaves the viewing feeling unengaged and unmoved. With that said, when I bring up this same concept in regards to real life, people look at me strange....as if real people aren't inspired to do wickedness or evil. It's kinda silly when people find this conversation debatable. To those who are born again and are about our Father's business, then you clearly understand the real warfare regarding it.
