Self Shoot Work

Just randomly found a set of photos from a few weeks back from a self shoot I did that I had forgotten about completely cause of focusing on other things.......so may have to get some edited up and added onto here to show off . This is the beauty of having one camera that gives me a remote control to shoot with ^^

Getting sorted for my first actual wedding commission in a couple of weeks!! Got a meeting with the two lovely women on Friday in Costa to go over the exact photos that they would like :) Can't wait and luckily this could class as work experience commission ^^ Even better :D

Work Experience Proposal Rough

So felt like posting up my rough proposal for work experience, just bare in mind this will or may be subject to change mainly cause I lack funds and mayyyyybe lack confidence......... But hey! I can guarantee, anything comes up before the dates for work experience as an opportunity to work with Scott Chalmers I WILL take it! (Minus the offer I got the other day to assist on a photoshoot with him in London on Bank Holiday weekend as my contract at work states I HAVE to work ALL bank holidays D:)

WORK EXPERIENCE PROPOSAL:

My original plan for work experience was to do a period of work with fellow photographer, Scott Chalmers who specialises in portraiture, commissioned briefs and band photography. Although I am still highly interested in doing this particular work experience with Scott, I am going to save this opportunity for the summer break. This is because he has advised me that for me to do a full sweep of work experience with him, it would take more than a couple of weeks and more likely take a couple of months. Doing this in the summer holiday will benefit me by giving more time to fully prepare for the work experience (i.e learn how to use a Nikon camera etc.) and will also mean that I can take full advantage of a much longer period of experience.

In place of this original idea I am going to set myself a minimum of 2 created, commissioned briefs to do during the allocated time for work experience. This will include doing a fashion based shoot with a previous client as well as working with bands on promotional shoots in the studio and on location.

To go alongside this newer plan, I will continue my work experience with the review website New Reviews which will involve reviewing and photographing live music events in Portsmouth. These venues for live music events will include the Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth Guildhall and the Pyramids Centre. I already have a few of these live events lined up and ready to be inquired about with the promotions companies in charge of each night. These include: Stereophonics at the Guildhall on the 22nd March Kodaline at the Wedgewood rooms on the 3rd of April Observing the Ghost (Album Launch) at the Wedgewood Rooms on the 4th of April Lower than Atlantis at the Pyramids on the 24th of April Kate Nash at the Wedgewood Rooms on the 30th of April Bring me the Horizon at the Pyramids on the 4th of May Mcfly at the Guildhall on the 14th of May & Pierce the Veil at the Wedgewood Rooms on the 16th of May.

This list may unfortunately get shorter due to promotions companies possibly saying no to the photo pass on the night, but I am hoping and confident that the list will get longer. This may be through other big and well known bands having live events soon but it may also be through local bands that I have shot before asking for photographs to be done. They may also be local bands that I have not shot before but have found me through word of mouth or my page on Facebook.
