Trying to figure lore with my Monika selfship is hard. Cause there's the whole meta layer of her knowing she's in the game, and the interactivity between her game and the REAL real world, ya know?

I suppose it works best for like, assuming my sona occupies the REAL real world. For lore purposes. And that's the outside world Monika knows about. I guess that's the easy part.

But then there's like, interacting with her before she leaves the game? Long story short, the eventual outcome is that Monika (and the others!) are able to leave the game and exist in the real world. Happy ending and all that. But I def want it to be I got to know her before then, make the relationship less one sided. For that I kinda have to assume DDLC as a game in INCREDIBLY more advance game than it is. As is, it's just a usual visual novel using fancy tricks.

I suppose like...it depends on if in my sona-world, DDLC exists as it does irl, or is like. A one-instance thing that my sona finds on a thumbdrive. Or could it be unique to my copy of the game? Lore wise Monika is more or less an incredibly advanced AI essentially locked in a calculator. Play into that, maybe? But then how explain other copies of the game...

My DDLC sona isn't anyone super special, but did have some kinda idea he could be some powerful digital demi-god being. Smth on par with Monika. And we both decide that for ourselves and the others, we cast aside our powers for the sake of living mortal lives in the real world. Maybe could be I start human, but turn myself into an AI? Or would that sour the idea of two artificial beings becoming real for the first time? I dunno!

Other peeps who selfship with Monika, lemme know what lore you have, if any? Curious how you approach things!

genuinely a little surprised I haven't run or had moots run into more digimon self shippers, like idk, there's a lot of untapped potential there i think
