Summary: Hayato would consider baking to be one of his hobbies, especially cookies. Usually, you help him with pleasure. When you come back home on this day, you see him partly covered in floor and the whole kitchen in an unusual disarray. Considering what happened the evening before, Haruka and Akihiko breaking up – no, just taking a break from each other, it’s probably better not to be all too miffed about it.
Hajime calls for an emergency meeting. Thankfully, he doesn’t force you to be there. You wait for your man to come back home but then you spend the night with someone else.

CW: (light) angst, I kind of want to witness Hayato making an absolute mess in the kitchen when baking... 🤭
the fifth entry is up on ao3. I’m somewhat pretty busy these days and I’m still trying to get my muse to work so I’m sorry if these one shots are (very) sloppy. still, thank you very much for reading! 💕
Twelve Days of Self-Shipmas - Day 1 - Preparing Your Home for Winter
I want to try and do this this year, so here's day 1 of Self-shipmas, as found in this post! Starting off with my Pokemon self-ship, My Greatest Challenges, feat. Chantae, Raihan, and Leon!
Chantae isn’t exactly what one would call ‘energetic’.
Sure, she gets a lot of things done and keeps herself pretty busy, but she takes everything at a leisurely pace where she can.
So seeing her bustle about her house, moving totes around with the help of her pokemon... it was strange, to say the least.
Raihan and Leon glanced towards each other from the doorway, realizing that she must have forgotten about inviting them over and not even realized that they were there. Without a word spoken to each other, they just nodded, Raihan pushing up his sleeves as Leon shut the door behind them carefully.
“How can we help?”
Chantae jolted with a startled yelp at the sudden voice, fortunately only dropping some blankets onto the large couch. Placing a hand over her heart and letting out an affectionate sigh, she stuck her tongue out at the two men. “I swear, you two are going to give me a heart attack one of these days,” she teased, her tone lighthearted.
Leon laughed sheepishly, Raihan rubbing the back of his neck. “Sorry about that… But seriously, how can we help? You’re buzzing around like a Ribombee.”
Humming thoughtfully, Chantae worked on straightening out the blankets to sit on the blanket more properly. “Well… I’ve still got another tote or two that needs to go upstairs, and I would appreciate help getting the tree up… I was honestly procrastinating it while I figured out how best to do it myself.” She admitted.
Leon went right for the totes, scooping them up and looking to her. “To your bedroom?”
“Yes please,” she answered, draping a folded blanket along the back of the couch, “I’ll put away those clothes either later tonight or tomorrow.”
Nodding in understanding, Leon took the totes upstairs, letting Chantae turn her attention to Raihan, who was waiting for his own instructions. “Give me just a minute to finish with these blankets, then we can bring the tree in and set up.”
Raihan nodded, crossing his arms patiently as he watched her. “I’ll be honest, I didn’t take you for the type to decorate for the holidays.”
Chantae hummed with a shrug, spreading out the next blanket. “I may not handle the cold well, but I enjoy the holidays. It’s nice being bundled up with a hot drink in front of a fireplace, surrounded by friends and family and gentle colorful lights.” She admitted with a soft smile. “Plus my parents sent me some of the ornaments I had growing up, so I figured this was as good a time as any to get set up.”
After setting down the last blanket, Chantae motioned for Raihan to follow her outside, where she had the tree propped up against the side of the house. It wasn’t particularly massive or anything, only about as tall as she was, but it was a very full tree, easily dwarfing her in size.
Just as the tree dwarfed Chantae, though, Raihan in turn dwarfed the tree.
Without the slightest bit of hesitation, he picked the tree up and looked towards her for directions.
Hoping that the flush to her cheeks could be dismissed as being from her bustling around so much today, she led him back into the house and helped him with getting it set up and secured in the stand.
Once Leon had finished taking the totes up and ensuring they were relatively out of the way, he came back down to see them setting up the tree. Deciding to keep himself busy, he took to looking through the ornaments and other decorations in the totes nearby.
After making sure that the tree was stable, Raihan got an idea and nudged Leon carefully. “Why don’t you start helping her decorate, and I can go grab us some snacks?” Leon didn’t even question the suggestion, nodding as he got up to help Chantae with putting up the lights. Honestly, they were half tempted to try and take over the decorating and let her rest, but they didn’t know how exactly she wanted it done. So instead they will follow her instructions and try to make it easier on her.
Between the three of them, it only took about an hour to finish putting up the decorations, giving them the chance to finally relax with the tea and snacks that Raihan brought out.
Chantae happily flopped down between her boys, half empty mug in hand and eyes half lidded. “Thank you for helping me with this.”
Raihan wrapped one arm along the back of the couch, humming in response.
“Of course!” Leon beamed “We’re happy to help, and it’s fun to see so many of your memories.”
“Besides,” Raihan added, leaning forward slightly to look down at her, “It would’ve taken forever for you to try and do all of that by yourself.”
She couldn’t argue that, taking a sip of her tea. “That’s true...”
Seeing that she was dozing off already between how busy she’d been and how cozy her couch was now, Leon grabbed the remote to put something on the TV to give her something to listen to while she gets some much needed rest.
Summary: The holidays in December are usually a very busy and bustling time. There are rarely moments to sit down and simply be in the present.
Lighting up candles to do so and remember lost loved ones is not how you would’ve imagined to rest your mind. Usually, you’re the one who has these unusual ideas. Not that you would complain, though.
Words: 1.900
CW: none, just a bit of nostalgia / remembering. fluff fluff fluff overall
the third entry was surprisingly easy to write! it’s up on ao3 now. and look! I can write small chapters 🤭 let’s see for how long lmao... either way, thank you for reading! 💕
Summary: An unintentional misunderstanding leads you to host a sleepover at your apartment, although you had planned a later date. And the accidental misunderstanding leads to additional guests. Which wouldn’t be a problem if one of the uninvited guests knew how to behave. So the boys take it up on themselves to deal with them.
Words: 5.400
CW: cursing, mentions of past bullying, uuuuhh... everything else is mostly fluff, I think? Hayato sulking hard needs a warning
I put up the 2nd entry on Ao3! for whatever reason, it wasn’t that easy to put it down... however, I still managed to bulk it up to over 5.000 words. my goodness... but maybe the length can make up the disastrous long delay... ? 🫣
as always, I thank you, so so much, for reading this! 💕
Summary: Hajime invented a tradition to have a little Christmas party in the orphanage to include you and the place you were born. He deliberately ignores the fact that you don't even know what this tradition is like in your country of birth because you were adopted as a baby. What really matters is the core idea – taking time out and spending time together during this hectic, brightly lit season. Especially when you don’t get to spend that much time together anymore.
No matter where in the world you celebrate it, Christmas is a season of love, whether for couples or families. And this spark can also spread to others.
Words: 3.770
CW: no real warning because Sakura behaves, but there’s fluff, so much fluff, probably ooc, reader is Umemiya’s sister again, can be read in the same universe as “Ready to adore you” but can be read as a stand-alone
this was supposed to be my entry for this year’s selfshipmas event SNOW WAS FALLING, SO MUCH LIKE STARS, day 1 – winter traditions. however, I’m already so hella behind, I feel like shit because work is currently horrible and I can’t say if and how many entries I might finish. I figured since I finished this one, I could at least post it.
for a better overview, I gave the children in the orphanage a name (sorted from oldest to youngest):
Summary: The temperatures are starting to drop noticeably. After a hard day at work, all you want to do is crawl into your boyfriend’s arms. You only make a quick detour to Kiryu’s place to see if he’s really okay, even though he’s played it down before.
If only you had accepted his offer to walk you home.
Words: 2.145
CW: (light) angst, canon-typical violence, otherwise it’s pretty much tame
finally put down the fourth entry! you can read it on ao3. without further ado, thank you for reading! 💕
