It is Okay to Say No
Some people find it hard to refuse people. Saying no sometimes considered as a negative reaction. Such thoughts are very common, indeed. However, somehow it is definitely okay to say no.
Here goes the critical inquiry. First, why do we have to do that? Second, in what way it will advantages us–or if there’s no advantage expected from doing the deed, will it harm us? Third, can we see the urgency? We need to try to understand these three principles before saying yes to someone’s offer.
For example, Eric is asked by his neighbor Andy, to take care of his dog for a day. Eric is allergic to dog fur. Eric should have said no and it is okay to do that because he would not want to risk his life that way. If Andy asks him to do that for he will be away for an emergency, Eric may consider of giving a second thought on it. If Andy is leaving the job to Eric for a nonsensible matter–partying, for example, why should Eric do that, at though? See, it is very okay to say no, to refuse an offer.
Let’s rethink and later remind about this. Nobody, not even our closest people, is responsible for our personal happiness. Nobody is under the obligation to take care of us–unless under some kind of oaths. Nobody else, but our own selves know every inch and depth of ourselves. We rule and we accept our own traits.
Saying no is okay, darling. It is indeed okay.
see you next term, xoxo
