34. What kind of situations does your character avoid the most?
The people kind.
Also public speaking, fancy events, events where there will be alcohol/substances, events where he has to understand what a blazer actually is, and events that go past midnight. Plus any situation that requires violence to solve.
42. Does your character tend to hide something about their personality/essence when meeting new people? If yes, what?
He still has that Southern Hospitality ingrained deep within him that comes out when first meeting people. All “ma’am” and “sir” and “it’s been a pleasure.” It’s not necessarily that he’s actively trying to hide parts of his personality under a veneer of pleasantries and more that It Is Polite Damn It Mama Would Be Mad.
45. Does your character practice any kind of escapism? If yes, what kind?
Going to the theatre, I think. He gets to lose himself inside whatever the world of the play is and for a while he doesn’t have any responsibility other than to watch and be a witness.
Jackie also likes to look at the stars on the very rare times they’re out and pretend that he’s back in Georgia, and that he’ll wake up to find that he’s home and he’s forgiven.
