I cannot believe Essek cried over someone he only knew as a literal and figurative monster

He only knew of molly on the offhand

And he believed in his friends and their happiness so much that he fucking cried over the failed res

And I've come to a depressing conclusion

If Molly is fighting or peeking through Lucien at Those Moments ™ (We've seen 3 so far, The Reading, Beau telepathy, Caleb's Circus Man comment, *and maybe Leave The World Better than you found it* HEAR ME OUT ON THE LAST ONE, LUCIEN STAYED QUIET AND LOOKED DIRECTLY AT CALEB!!!!! No reaction may as well BE a reaction in this instance.)

Anyways

If Molly really is there, this is a horrifying parallel to Yasha with Obann.

They were both there, watching, hurting their friends/loved ones, but couldn't do anything. Only having very few moments of clarity before being snuffed out again by the hold of their captor.

Essek cried for the first time for someone he didn't even know. Just purely due to the sheer amount that that person meant to his first and only friends, those friends that helped him see that what he grew up in wasn't always supposed to be that way.

Caduceus called on his goddess, to bring back that same person, due to the sheer amount that that person meant to the people that helped him stop hesitating and go out into the world at large and find his own purpose and not necessarily be at the whim and wishes of that same goddess.

Y'know, in my personal opinion, if there's any scene that Essek possibly realized his feelings or actually fell in love with Caleb (kinda like how Yasha fell in love with Beau in Kamordah... That sentence/scene lives in my head rent fucking free btw), its when he saw the top floor of The Tower

There's just something, so... Different about how Mercy/Essek schools his expression towards Lima/Caleb in that moment that hits so different

And I just think about that sometimes 🥲💜
