Olly's fully written bio is currently AVAILABLE.
A simple life has always been the dream for Olly Eastwick. Growing up in Jersey, he was raised to appreciate family and community over the bells and whistles that the metropolis of New York had to offer. Even he is in disbelief that he ended up living in his own house in one of the city’s most domestic neighbourhoods.
His mother had just landed her dream job a little over a year ago: an executive marketing position in the firm she’d worked hard in for most of her adult life. Soon after landing her promotion is when Olly’s grandmother fell ill and within hours of hearing the news, his mother was writing up her resignation for a role she hadn’t yet started and preparing to move out to the city to take care of her.
He couldn’t watch his mother let go of her dream after so long of working towards it. Oliver had to do something about it.
At the time, he was working as a surveyor, employed by the state, but getting a transfer was so easy that it only made sense for him to step up. Within a few weeks, his mother was excelling in her dream job, and Oliver was moving in with his grandmother in New York.
Settling into his job was easy. His buddies from home were eager to visit for nights out on the weekends and his grandmother couldn’t be more thrilled to have him nearby. It was ticking along pretty smoothly... until she was admitted into the hospital. He supposes it’s foolish of him to be so taken aback by her illness worsening. He was there to take care of her during her last days, but the steep and sudden decline of her health took the whole family off guard.
When things began to seem really grim, that’s when she told Olly her wish. She wants him to take the house when she passes; all paid off and his to keep for himself. It’s his whole life handed to him, but at the greatest cost.
