ACTIVE FANDOM SEMI-RETIREMENT

i am starting it early! i've been in fandom for 20 years this coming january, so i think it's time.

i still have a request on Scenes in Time and a collab/trade i look forward to coloring, plus finishing/posting my new 150k word kakasasu monster, but after that, who knows!

i'm not gonna disappear. first i'm taking a short break, then i'm just gonna do the fandom equivalent of tending to my garden in my sunhat and sandals with socks - i'll draw & write what i want, and try to care a LOT less about what ppl think of it. maybe easier said than done, but i want to interact with fandom in a way that's healthier and more fun for me at my "advanced age" lol

so i may take a short break while still posting a chapter a week and working on that other stuff :) then i'll be back around, puttering around in my garden XD see you around!

Pfft ahaha, so fricking adorable the pair of these two! 😂  LWJ being so loving towards WWX noticing even the smallest of details, drinking the soup because he knows his husband doesn’t like the taste ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ and the stealthy table moving, so cute!

Also the Lans probably do witness the soft love first hand with everyone’s eyes being on the most talked about couple, despite that there are no reprimands (not that there should be any! but you know, strict with rules and all that and still!) and its a family banquet with Wei Wuxian being there as Lan Wangji’s partner, OFFICIAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT Y’all, *wipes happy tears*

Semi-Retirement: Update

So, my plan for semi-retirement was retire from the Dept of Education and substitute teach about 2-3 times a week on average.

While the Dept of Education (DOE) was figuring out a computer software loop issue--they had put recent retirees in the batch of new subs rather than fast tracking us into needed sub roles immediately, I also signed up and started subbing in Charter Schools. That took a day to start.

The update is that after 7 weeks, the DOE processed my application. I was getting phone calls the morning of my acceptance before the "Welcome Letter" was issued. Then, the phone calls became non-stop both in the morning, the evening and the weekend (Good thing I have a practice, as my family knows, of keeping my phone on silent).

Why are the calls non-stop? The listing of vacancies are endless. I accepted a close-by position until the end of October. The sub position is to cover a vacancy not filled for the year yet. The payroll secretary was so nice and said, "now the phone calls should stop for awhile".

LOL. Nope. This loop also somehow is not managed correctly. There is such an overuse of technology everywhere, but for these simple tasks, technology is great if programmed properly. Somehow the DOE does not yet have the expertise to program these tasks in an efficient manner. The phone calls are constant (There is a way to look up all the jobs online also so no need to answer any of the calls, when looking for a sub assignment). For those looking for a "software" consulting project, I highly recommend calling the NYC Department of Education.

Nancy Pelosi may be stepping down from leadership but she isn’t going anywhere. She’ll still be a House member representing her district in California. She’ll be able to personally smooth out the transition to the next Democratic leader – probably Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08) who will be a groundbreaker in his own right. And because her district covers San Francisco with its tech companies (including Twitter) she will continue to speak out on matters which affect the industry.
