It hadn’t been easy adjusting after the so called ‘Snap’. He remembered everything the curse of his perfect memory. The pain of being stabbed, the pain as death got closer, the cold as his blood left him. But worse then that was seeing Bucky fade away, watching him vanish and not being able to do anything about it. The look on Steph’s face had been crushing.

Now standing here at some stupid party dressed in a suit Cillian stood off to the side while Steph shook hands and smiled. He knew she didn’t want to but at the same time had to. Off to the side of the room he answered questions only half paying attention to what he was saying. But something changed, maybe it was the sudden swell of people, maybe it was the flash of lightning, maybe it was none of them.

But as the pain in his side from where the alien blade had pierced his skin flared again though the wound was gone Cillian knew he was about to have a flashback. His hands shook and his breath grew fast and shallow and the people still pressed closer. Already he could feel his throat closing up, the ability to call out gone. The party it seemed had been cut short, for him that is
