The journey of Runa’s vibrant paper art began as a hobby to keep her busy back in 2012, when she stumbled upon the quilling technique on the internet. But her first attempt did not quite turn out the way she wanted, compelling Runa to seek the help of online tutorials to master the method and to come up with her own signature style. Last year the artist decided that she could no longer be tied down to her nine to five desk job as an HR personnel and bid the corporate world goodbye. Runa seeks inspiration from all the things around her, her intricate and festive designs basking everyone in joy.

She is an Istanbul based artist who allows her imagination to run wild when she is busy quilling paper into delicate works of art. Checkout Runa’s stunning creations on her Instagram, Etsy or her  website.

Whimsical Quilled Paper Designs by Sena Runa

Istanbul-based artist Sena Runa creates stunning quilled paper designs, which lend themselves to colorful compositions and a quirky imagination. Composed of a multitude of vibrant hues and pastels Runa’s pieces are the basis of intricate geometric designs, which are installed into larger figures.

Mainly constructed from a variety of different shaped circles, she proves to have a knack for color theory and composition. Each hue complements the swirl and movement of each shred of paper.
