hi so i wasn't attending classes during the strike and stuff and i know that i wasn't required to cross picket lines, even for assignments. and i told my prof this, so if i had something due today, would i still be able to hand it in and use the senate policy as my excuse?

Not if the prof already extended the due dates for your assignment, to accommodate students who did not cross picket lines. If he did not already give you an extension, then yes you can ask the professor for an extension based on the Senate Policy.

I though students who chose not to cross the picket lines wouldn't be penalized. Why are we now expected to continue with the students who chose to cross the picket lines? What about the lessons we missed while the strike was going on?

You’re not expected to. If you did not cross picket lines you should have received accommodation. Either online materials or some other form of alternate resources.

If you read the Senate Policy, it says that once professors have provided you accommodated material during the strike then it’s your responsibility to go over it - they will not be holding lectures on past course material once the strike is over and classes are back in session. Currently, students who did not do any course work during the strike, will have due dates extended - you should be receiving updates on courses by professors soon.

Is there a rule stating that my minor credits must be taken at York, or some rule like over half of them (business minor)?

Hey there! I just wanted to quickly clarify something. Referring to section 2.2 which deals with fairness to students, am I allowed to refuse to submit an assignment both in person AND online?

Yes.

Hey guys...If I didn't write an exam because I didn't want to cross the picket line do I still need to fill out a deferred exam request form?

I would recommend talking to your professor about this. Some of my profs have said that we’re not required to hand in anything (including documentation) if we’re choosing not to participate in any course work/exams. I’m not sure if this would apply to your course as well, so you need to email your prof and find out.

If the strike still goes on during the Exam Period, will the Senate Policy about the right not cross the picket line without being penalized be valid/effective during that period?? The Policy itself seems contradicting to what the current Senate are saying and doing sometime...

I’m not really sure about final exams, and I agree the Senate Policy is quite vague and doesn’t really specify what exactly we’re exempt from academically. I would honestly just ask your professors, some of my professors have made online exam accommodations just so students don’t have to come onto campus to write any exams.
