What do you love most about good omens???

Ah geez… if I had to pick just one thing it would probably be the gender fuckery of it all. I love that canonically, angels and demons don’t have a sex or gender so it’s optional for them. If they want to they can use their powers to literally make the effort to have a gender. And the fact that they can change things up if they feel like it?? Amazing. Perfect.

I like that Crowley enjoys to change up his presentation and appearance. Him being genderfluid is so cool and opens up so many fan interpretations. So many AU possibilities. There’s truly something for everyone on AO3.

Having that as a canon starting point, it gives fans so much to play with and I love that. As a follow up to all that- this fandom community is also my favorite thing about Good Omens. Everyone is so talented and creative and supportive! I love seeing the amazing things people come up with!

Okay but what if you just plop onto his lap with a "I'm tired and cold and cranky so give me cuddles" but you know him he's a pretty cruel person. So he dumps his coat and places his ushanka on your head to comfort you without a word so he can do more work. When he does finish his work he grabbed whatever blankets were close as he slides you off his lap and slides next to you. He pulls his coat over himself as well, before covering the two of you in blankets. He would then hold you close and whisper to you.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

A million things! If I have to pick one right now, it's her curiosity as s driving force for her. She wants answers. Her go-to is science. Science is what makes the world make sense. And she sticks to that and at the same time keeps an open mind for things that don't fit in with that -- to a point. She wants proof. She gets assigned to work with this guy who looks at the world and goes "Aliens! Psychic abilities! Ghosts!" And she enjoys the challenge of all that weirdness. She enjoys arguing with Mulder. They push each other. Respectfully. The world she lands herself in is not hers at all at first, but she doesn't want to leave either. She wants to understand. Oh also? I enjoy that she's never the sidekick. In a 90s show she could very easily have been that. But she and Mulder are treated as equals and she was such an icon back then and still is today.

18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?

Is it too obvious if I say Mulder? I don't care. Those two. The respect they have for each other. Even when they first meet, it could have gone so wrong, but they both listen to one another and earn each other's respect and then friendship in no time at all. Yes, yes, they are the Ship of All Time, but they are so much more than that too. There's a real partnership between them. Their different world views never get in the way of that. On the contrary, they almost seem to strengthen that bond. In each other, they find a person who will listen to their thoughts, theories and beliefs and neither dismiss them out of hand nor go along with them to indulge them. They can be honest with each other, fight with each other, and know that the other one is still going to be there afterwards. Just that respect and appreciation they have for each other...I love it.

💘 A fic you couldn't stop reading once you started

oh, there's so many. we have such amazing writers in this fandom, i honestly feel so blessed to have so many incredible stories to read.

but the latest one i couldn't stop reading is definitely You Can Hear It In The Silence, by @imogenleefic. when I tell you after chapter 1 I was already OBSESSED, I'm not kidding. I read 18 chapters in one go and went to sleep at 4am. needlessly to say, working the next day was very painful. but seriously, the story so good. the writing is simple and yet magnificent and the characters are so layered, you can't help but fall in love with them. not to mention that @imogenleefic is the biggest sweetheart and deserves all the praise <3 SO GO READ IT AND GIVE HER KUDOS AND AMAZING COMMENTS!!!

🤔 The first fic you think of when I say holding hands

omg that's a tough one. I honestly have no idea, so I'm just gonna add the fic I'm currently reading because I'm in love with it: Golden (I don't know if the author is here on tumblr, so please someone tag them if they are!!). I've seen some discourse on @indiaalphawhiskey asks today about how Harry doesn't struggle and suffer because his life isn't as hard as Louis' has been with so many losses, for example, and that's just ridiculous. we never know what someone is truly going through, so we're not in position to judge their pain. I think this fic is perfect to showcase that, because harry has everything, money, success, his voice, an amazing career, but still he's in so much pain he can't take it anymore. It's an amazing story and so, so well written, so sensitive, I'm hooked.
