Following a lead on a case they just can’t seem to solve, an accident leaves Mulder with supernatural powers. The same powers their main suspect seems to posses. In a race against time to stop a series of murders, what could be a key to the case instead puts new obstacles in their way.

Unremarkable Days - various ratings, ongoing series of standalone ficlets (AO3 link)
A series of ficlets describing days in the life of Mulder and Scully at the Unremarkable House. These will be more or less standalone ficlets, so I'm leaving it as a WIP for as long as I can think of more mundane everyday adventures to add. Ratings will vary from G to Explicit but you can skip parts without losing track of the plot. This will be fluff for the most part, with the occasional sprinkling of angst lite; details will be given in the notes for every chapter. Mainly, this is the two of them learning to stop running.
One-shots under the cut:

One More Night In Bellefleur, Oregon - T, 1,015 words (AO3 link)
Today's prompt was "caught in the rain." This is a Requiem fix-it fic, because if they have to be caught in the rain, they should do it where it first happened and then live happily ever after. Nothing bad will happen to them ever again.
In Conclusion - T, 3,370 words (AO3 link)
It's the middle of the night in a freezing cold motel room and they both haven't slept. The best time and place to figure out how relationships work -- theirs in particular.

or: the kiss from The Truth, told in 1,000 words.
Coffee and Pancakes - T, 1,881 words (AO3 link)
It’s amazing, he thinks, how quickly you can get used to things just because they feel right. It’s been no more than a few weeks since they unpacked the last of her boxes; there hadn’t been many to begin with. She had left a lot of stuff behind when she’d moved out and barely acquired new things during the time she’d been away. Everything is back where it belongs now.

General Audiences:
Two Mugs on the Counter - G, 1,721 words (AO3 link)

Travel in Style - G, 1,401 words (AO3 link)
“I can’t believe there wasn’t a single room available anywhere,” Scully says, snuggling deeper under the jacket she’s using as a blanket, already sounding half asleep as she tilts the driver’s seat back into a reclined position. “Three motels and not one single bed to be found.”
Mulder shifts in the passenger seat – which she had insisted he should take because of the leg room – and desperately tries to get comfortable. “That has literally never happened before,” he agrees, sliding the seat back as far as it will go. It’s still too cramped. “God, Scully, how can you ever sleep in the car? You always make it look so easy.”
The Words Behind the Meaning - G, 3,175 words (AO3 link)
He tells her he owes her everything and she owes him nothing. She knows that's not true, but she doesn't get to tell him. Life has other plans. But she knows. And once life lets her, she will tell him.

Starstruck - G, 671 words (AO3 link)
"So, I guess she's sticking around, then?" Frohike asks, and Mulder looks up from . . . whatever it is Byers just put on the screen in front of him and nods.
"Seems that way. At least for now."

Tasting Raindrops - G, 385 words (AO3 link)
She laughs with him and can't look away, raindrops clinging to his lashes, water dripping from his nose -- not kissing him in this moment would defy every law of the universe.
What Time Do You Call This? - G, 495 words (AO3 link)
He stirs as she carefully lowers herself onto the mattress and she pauses, not wanting to wake him. It's way after midnight and it's enough if one of them will be entirely sleep-deprived the next day.
I think that’s one of the reasons why “period” media that’s marketed off the Aesthetic sometimes bothers me.......like they get the music, the clothing, the cars......and yet it always feels like something is missing
i was going to say the film thing and the someone brought up supernatural and i was like "nah" and then @aphony-cree out here dropping that bomb.... in *2005,* to *2008?* there was a show shooting on film???? god you guys MOST shows went though this transition in the 90s how the fuck was SPN on FILM
In the 2000s dramatic shows had a good shot of convincing networks to let them use film. The network still had film cameras they’d bought and maybe hadn’t gotten enough use out of before the switch to digital. Most dramas can’t be shot entirely in the studio, they need to go on location, so it made sense to let them use the older cameras while the new expensive digital cameras stayed in the studio where they were safer
Supernatural wanted the 35mm film aesthetic and hated when they were forced to switch to digital
I once watched a girl in the produce aisle pick up a bushel of bananas that were precariously perched on the edge and move them farther back and under her breath she said “there you go sweeties - that will be more comfortable” before shuffling off and… I think about her often.
I was driving on the highway and passed a dude absolutely JAMMING alone in his car, doing those little half dance moves you do when you’re stuck sitting down in a small space, bellowing unheard lyrics at the top of his lungs, and my instant reaction was to think “I love you.” And then to pray he had a good day, or whatever, because those fleeting moments of connection are so incredible.
I believe that what unites Scully and Mulder above all else is their absolute integrity as people. Their moral incorruptibility – the fact that they’ll stand up for what they believe in, no matter what, no matter the personal costs. Their loyalty to the truth they believe in. The stubborness in never giving that up.
I believe that’s what they recognise in each other straight away. And it’s the first thing they love about each other. What makes them trust each other. That’s their common ground. The differences between them teach them how they will complement each other. That they can do so because that deep respect for one another is there right from the start: we’re the same; we take our moral obligation to ourselves seriously. We don’t betray what we believe in.
I think Scully's jealous streak probably comes from feeling overshadowed by her sister? I can see Melissa being tall and beautiful from a young age while Dana was an awkward late bloomer so she leaned into being the smart one. She doesn't seem to perceive herself as being hot especially in the early seasons. When she's feeling insecure about leggy brunettes encroaching on her territory she asserts her brains/competence at them
