Let me inform you as to why I'm tripping right now.
If you read chapter four of my fic Amartëa Melmë - The last Tale of Gil-galad,, you'd maybe remember the nightingale in the tree whose song pulls him out his trance.
Mind you, I chose the nightingale because I researched birds and their use in fairytales and mythology, I have not read the Silmarillion or other books like Beren and Lúthien.
So I planned to pull an all-nighter doing research again (which was going amazing), until I found out that Lúthien took the form.... of a nightingale. ((🥹I'm about to eat my keyboard I'm so serious))
And that her song represents love that endures through suffering, yet is destined to end in tragedy....🥹.
So, if you wanted to interpret it that way, is Lúthien there (I am now well aware that she chose mortality to be with Beren and both died after but still-) to watch over the love of two people who know deep down from the very beginning that their love is doomed to end in tragedy and desolation?
Like what am I supposed to do with my life now??
