Uncharismatic Fact of the Day
The world record for the 100 meter dash is held by Usain Bolt, coming in at 9.58 seconds. Despite being significantly smaller than Mr. Bolt, elephant shrews can give him a good run for his money! Some species, such as the western rock elephant shrew or the cape elephant shrew, weigh only 50 g (1.7 oz) on average, but they have been clocked at running up to 28.8 kph (17.9 mph)- meaning they can cover the 100 meter dash in just 11.4 seconds!
