      HE’S BARELY LISTENING to what the trainer across from him is mumbling as they sit in a coffee shop. mind you, it’s because blair hasn’t finished his coffee yet and can barely think, so really, he’s not exactly listening to what trevor is saying... he catches things here and there and hums nonchalantly. he doesn’t seem to answer anything completely until trevor asks out loud to himself the answer to a math equation, and blair responds without thinking:

oh, it’s probably no use. even with all his training, there’s no way janua’s fast enough to catch up to a runaway ninjask. that doesn’t mean he isn’t going to try, of course--it’s a ninja and he wants it and he is going to get it.

...unless, of course, he crashes right into someone, giving the pokemon time to get too far away. oops.

    And once again, just when Adair thinks he understands all of this ‘pokémon trainer’ nonsense, he ends up feeling even more lost than before. He’s starting to think this is all much more complicated than it needs to be (or maybe he’s just beyond help at this point).
